x. Mental character description: (personality, nature etc.) She can be quite cynical at times, and usually only acts in her own stead. Not exactly caring about others, she can warm up to some but it takes a lot of work. She can be snappy and very rude, but usually she just strays from the crowds. She is also a night dweller, preferring the night to the day, possibly sprouted from her mother's behavior when she was a puppy.
x. History: She has never, and will not, speak of it. (I haven't gotten around to making one. On the site I normally role play her, she's just a young pup and so she doesn't have any history.)

(And uh, here's my role play example since I have no history. I think it's required, right..? Longer than needed, but I can't find any other examples. Amiss is Shade's mother, Shade is a pup here, and Monclear is their father who died, to clear things up. And Aurora is Shade's pup sister.


Shade rolled down and under her sister, then kicked Aurora off, attempting to send her flying. Alas, the attempt failed. Due to Shade's age, her back legs were still a bit wobbly and she only managed to give a small push, not enough to knock her sister off. She growled in frustration, angered that she could do little damage. Nipping Aurora, she watched as her sister padded off, bit something and returned with a small creature. Head tilted, Shade pawed the creature tentatively. She gave a small bark, then attempted a howl- it came out as a tiny squeaking moan. Sounding enough like a howl to her, she turned around and around, as if chasing her tail. Then, with an evil glint in her eyes, she scooped the creature up and fled behind their mother. She giggled softly to herself. Thieving felt..fun! It was a game to her. She peeked up from behind Amiss and swiveled her ears, blinked her eyes and taunted Aurora.

Amiss was lost in a dream more unlike any she had experienced. Fire flashed, dancing off the rocks, sending sparks flying every which way. The silhouettes of many wolves were easily picked out, but they seemed to be running /toward/ the fire. One in particular caught Amiss's eye. "Monclear!" she whispered, tears blurring her vision. A voice rang through the fiery plain, extremely hard to pick out. Amiss craned her neck, straining her ears. She couldn't catch a word of it, and now the fire was fading, replaced by a forest maze. One path to the left, one to the north, and one to the right. A soft whisper caught her ears, "The path.....choose, decide.....fate.." Amiss gasped. Was this another prophecy dream? She looked at each path in turn. The right one was swampy, with broken branches, and the left one was extremely obvious- a clearing with a river in the middle. But the water was very..dark, with square particles dancing and floating through it. There was not another way to cross, and it was quite deep. There were rocks spanning it, but they were far apart and she wasn't sure if she'd be able to make it. If she slipped..what would happen? But if she swam, she was a good swimmer, what would happen, being exposed to the water more? The north path was even more intimidating. Creatures of all shapes and sizes were milling around, not taking any notice. They were HUGE, and black, with green markings. Amiss bit her lower lip, deciding on the left path. She begun walking toward it. At least it was easiest. Then, a much louder voice echoed in the forest. "Momma!" it screamed, coming from the path Amiss was taking. Amiss listened, then realized...Shade! she picked up her pace, and spotted Shade hanging from a rock about a foot or so above the river. The river that was dark with black particles. Shade was extremely scared, and the pup was slipping. Amiss charged towards the ledge, mother instinct taking over. But..she was a second too late. "Mommmaaa!" Shade screeched, plunging into the dark water, her pawholds disappearing. Amiss dove into the water, and a burning filled her entire body, especially near her right eye. "Aaarrrgghh!" she growled in agony. It hurt, really really bad. But her pup was in danger.
Shade(not the real Shade) struggled to get her head above the water, but she kept swallowing dirty water. "Momma! Help! It hurts!" she screamed, the burning sensation extremely real now. She churned the water with her paws, but it was useless, The only thing keeping her up was an underwater current. The river wasn't too fast, but it was fast for a pup.

Amiss dog paddled, straining her body, ignoring the burning. It grew more intense, until she felt the very fur around her right eye burning off, and when she dipped into the water again, a sudden wave coming over her, the spot around that eye was bald. For some reason, it didn't hurt anymore. She paddled faster, reaching her muzzle out to grab Shade's scruff. She clenched down, paddling to the bank. "Momma.." Shade whispered weakly. Something was wrong with Shade's fur. It was sort of teal, with blackish-green spots and green markings just like on the monsters she saw in the north path. The stripe on Shade's head melted away, and her eyes became a burning orange red. Amiss gasped. Then, like a gunshot in the night..
Amiss awoke with a jolt, breathe coming fast and shallow. Realizing that she was awake, she put a paw to her right eye, then gasped in horror. The fur was burnt off! It really was another true dream. So, what happened to Shade? She looked behind her, spotting Shade.
Shade had been seized by burning, and a light had come over her. Slowly, the light faded, and she got up groggily. She felt...different. Deep green-black markings replaced her old red and white markings, and her eyes felt as if they would burn up into fire. She looked at her mom, and whimpered. What was wrong with her?
Amiss looked at Shade and licked her pup's head. Then, she blinked. Shade's old red stripe was still there, but it was now orange, close to the color of fire. "Shade, honey.." she whispered, voice catching in her throat. What was happening? Amiss grabbed Shade by the scruff of her neck, and hurried out silently, hoping Aurora wouldn't notice her. Something was calling her and Shade north, toward a large glade.

x. Physical character description: Larka has a lean but muscular build. In winter her coat is thick but in the Summer short. Her coat is a brilliant white with light grey on the tip of her tail, her paws and on her muzzle. Her eyes are a icy blue with little streaks of dark blue. A streak of light blue flows form between her ears to the start of her tail. Her paw pads are a dark grey and her nose pitch black. Her teeth look more like jagged bits of ice rather than ordinary teeth.
x. Mental character description: Larka is a patient wolf who is not easily angered. But when she is she can unleash the bitter cold of the arctic on her foes. She loves the cold but doesn't mind the heat much. She is a responsible wolf who tries not to anger others. She enjoys company but when feeling down or upset she rather wander on her own.
x. History: Larka was one of 5 pups in a litter. Her parents cared for them much and taught them to live in the blistering heat. Of course to the other wolves it was pleasant weather. Larka grew up learning to control her rage and becoming patient so she didn't send a blizzard loose in the middle of Summer. Her siblings found it easier than her and soon the worst that would happen is a single snow flake would form in their anger. Larka grew jealous and started working twice as hard until she had achieved their level of patience. She loved hunting with her pack, that was the only time they were allowed to use their powers. They used to make the ground beneath their prey treacherous with ice and make their hooves freeze to the soil. It made hunting easier but a bit dull towards the other hunting methods open to them. When Larka became 2 years old, officially an adult, she set off to find her a pack to join.

x. Physical character description:

Tryst is a narrow, tall she-wolf. Her frame is light and delicate, and her movement is fluid and detached. Her coat is silky, soft, shimmering in the sun, a fairly uniform orange color. Her chest has a white bib, extending down her stomach and the underside of her tail, while her paws all in black socks, which fade up into the orange. The backs of her ears are also deep coal black. She has black fur just around the rims of her emerald eyes, defining them, and showing great contrast between their lush depths and her fiery coat. The end of her tial is black, as if dipped in paint, and the very tip of it is white. All in all, Tryst looks a lot like a wolf in fox’s clothing. While her face is slim, long, and distinctly lupine, her pattern is one known well as the one of the red fox.

She tends to hold herself at full height. She’s tall for a female, though not taller then the boys, of course. Her delicate frame prevents her from being incredibly strong, actually, she’s not very strong at all. But her long, elegant legs lend her almost unrivaled speed and agility, which she uses to her advantage whenever she can. And honestly, anyone with the build to be as fast as her would be about her strength, so she feels she has nothing to fear.

Even from a distance, Tryst looks anything but ordinary. Her chest is deep and narrow, her shoulders slim and her waist slimmer still, and then on to prevelant, hips, only slightly larger than her shoulders. Her tail is long, bushy, and she has excellent control over it, constantly keeping it in motion.

x. Mental character description:

The definition of a tryst is this : ‘an agreement (as between lovers) to meet’ (according to Merriam-Webster), which is absolutely perfect for Tryst. She’s a flirt, a bad one too. She has no intention of ever settling down with anyone in particular. No intention of having pups, a pack, or starting a family. She doesn’t respect authority at all, and is smart enough to realize she can get away with it if she’s careful enough… Or fast enough.

Tryst is a trickster, loving to humiliate and confuse other females, exploiting them. And the males, well, she leads them on until they’re hooked on her, and then she’s gone. She no longer stays hidden and watches. She knows exactly what havoc she’s wreaking and loves it. When she’s after her current man, her emerald eyes never, ever betray her true intentions. She’s secretive, sneaky… Tryst really should have been born a vixen, not a wolf. She’s an actress of high caliber, faking her tenderness with revolting sincerity. She’s not afraid to take time on her projects, spending months convincing her target that they really are the love of her life.

Of course, she will feel the occasional twinge of remorse, after all, she knows very well her intentions. Once they construct her into their lives, she leaves, and a hole is opened. Depending on how deep she is in their lives, sometimes the whole thing crumbles. And sometimes that’s tough. But she never really gets ‘attached to anyone, so she’s over it soon, and off to the next boy who finds her pretty.

I’d love to stick in a ‘Despite all this flirty cruelness, Tryst has a soft side’ transition, but sadly, that’s not who she is. After the sweet, flirty romantic façade falls to reveal the almost sadistic Loki beneath, there’s nothing more, and you’ve reached her true self.

x. History:

Now comes the traumatizing incident that reveals her motivations, the lover killed or the one that got away, condemning her to a life of cruelly taunting others with whispers of love, right? No, not really. Tryst was born to loner parents who were almost nauseatingly in love. Tryst and her brother Rendezvous were the only two pups born, but they were her parent’s fifth litter. They grew up roving around, always returning to one den eventually, eating good food, being taught morals and skills. The twins did fine, they could hunt, they could fight their unique styles. Rendezvous was captivated by life, loving every moment with his family. Tryst was bored out of her mind, and once she knew everything she needed to, she left. She said goodbye, as payment for her life skills, and then disappeared without a backwards glance. She has no nostalgic thoughts about what could be considered and idyllic childhood.

Since then, she’s traveled around, breaking hearts and doing what she pleases, when she pleases. That’s just the way she lives.

x. Physical character description: Medusa is a muscular pup with midnight black fur. Her eyes are a dark amber. Her coat is rough from her travels. She is tall for her age (1 year) and is lean. She has a grey muzzle and a grey tail tip.
x. Mental character description: Medusa is a wolf you don't want to mess with. Despite her age she has gained a life's worth of hate and anger. She is feral and doesn't like the way wolves look at her at the rare occasions that she is seen. She is cold hearted and loves being on her own. Few have tried to thaw her out but all have failed. Inside she smiles at their attempts. She wants someone to thaw her out.. but as the days pass she drifts deeper and deeper into her bubble of hatred.
x. History: Medusa was the only Earth in her litter. The others were air, fire, water or normal. She didn't like her pack and sat apart brooding. When she was weaned and knew basic survival skills she left her family and wandered alone. She usually moved at night and has gotten an affliction to anything warm and nice. She likes the snow and the cold earth beneath her paws. It was while she was wandering that really got to her. She slept in the shade of trees and sometimes -if she was lucky- rested in caves or the hollows of rotten logs. In the first few weeks she could hear the sound of her mother, howling.. no begging for Medusa to come home. But she wouldn't listen and now she doesn't even know the sound, or the warm touch of her mother. It took her 2 months to figure out, that even though she had been the rebel, the one who was dark and uncaring. Her mother had always loved her. Her name was just what the pack called her, something her personality reflected. She now wanders -still- growling at passers by and making sure her presence is mostly unknown.

Lexx is a largish individual, built on a tall, thick frame. He is muscular, and very strong, but not as fast as a lighter wolf might be. His fur is full, thick, very warm, and soft. He has a very traditional silhouette, with a large ruff, thick tail, and free gait. However, his fur coloring is less than normal. His pattern is that of an African Wild Dog, a patchwork mix of black, white, and warm tan. His eyes are soft, empathetic, and golden brown.

x. Mental character description:

He’s the stable sort. Lexx is rarely ruffled, his outward reactions are muted and sometimes nonexistent. He’s quiet and calm, thinking things through all the way before reacting. Lexx cares deeply about his friends and family, and wants nothing more than safety for those he cares about. He’s an excellent listener and gives practical advice.

Lexx tends to be a little slow and ponderous, and often doesn’t get what’s right in front of him. He is pretty dense, finding it near impossible to see how others feel about him – both positively and negatively. Thus he can be a little hard to communicate to without being incredibly blunt. However, he’s very transparent and he’s terrible at hiding how he feels about someone.

First impressions are vital with him, because no matter how he tries, he find it hard to see anyone any way other than the way he first met them. And due to his inability to hide his emotions, if you make a bad first impression, it’ll be simple to see his uneasiness around you, and next to impossible to befriend him. However, a positive first impression means you’ve probably earned a loyal friend for life – whether you deserve it or not.

Yes, once Lexx deems someone’s first impression worthy of friendship, it doesn’t matter what you do. Once fooled and befriended, Lexx can be duped easily. He’ll protect his friends and tends not to listen to reason about them, even when the truth is smacking him in the face with a large fish. It doesn’t matter. The converse is true, and he’s almost impossible to convince when a good wolf has put forth a bad first impression. However, if he is convinced, the redeemed wolf is just as fiercely protected as any others.

He tends to have large circles of friends, and loves a pack atmosphere where he knows he’s surrounded by comrades. It’s almost impossible for him to dislike a packmate, merely due to the bond he now shares with them, and will protect the pack without second thought. He’d be quite an asset if he weren’t so easy to fool, so easy to allow those that would betray him into his heart. But regardless, he has a warm, golden, almost magnetic personality that seems peaceful – it’s often hard to be anxious around him.


x. History:

Lexx had a rather unremarkable life. His parents were betas in a medium sized pack. He grew up with the warmth, love, and companionship of others. He was a particular favorite of the old alpha, a slate-colored and elderly wolf who ruled with kindness, understanding, and unshakable loyalty and protectiveness towards his pack. He was sensible, able to fight if he needed to, and kept the pack in line without beating them down. To young Lexx, who was exuberant and full of energy, he was the ideal leader.

As he got older, though, the alpha started to become frail, and he understood his time to rule had ended. He passed the pack on to Lexx’s father and stepped down, welcomed into the ranks as a respected elder and friend. Lexx took his parent’s beta position – alone.

The lack of a mate unsettled a few, and they went so far as to try and hook him up with various pack wolves. He never understood this and was delighted that so many females wanted to be his friend. Still full of bursting energy, he would run tirelessly with them, but never really saw that they weren’t there just to be his buddies.

Eventually, he matured into a calm, contemplative fellow, content with his life. His parents were also good alphas, and the pack was in some sort of blissful golden age. Almost nothing went wrong, but as he grew, Lexx understood that there was something out there beyond this golden light of the pack. He bid his family and friends a sad farewell, promised to visit often, and took his leave into the world.

He almost always traveled with a small group, which changed whenever a member found a place to settle down. He kept going, his group changing, often compiled of several females and a few smallish males. He never considered anyone more than a friend, regretted it when they left him, but was calmed by their assurances that they would be happy. Eventually, he found his place, and sent the group on, fondly watching them as they went and wishing them happiness wherever they went.
